About

Don Giovanni has been serving delicious, affordable Italian cuisine in Chelsea and the Theater District for almost a quarter of a century. We are wholly a family affair, and our traditional Neapolitan restaurants boast both warm atmospheres and lovely outdoor cafes. Service is smooth and easy, and the informality is a refreshing change from the onslaught of pretentious Italian places in the area. Don Giovanni has established itself as both Chelsea’s and Time Square’s best bargain and the premier place to go for delicious Italian cuisine.

Pizzas are Don Giovanni’s specialty, with many different options to choose from. Baked in our old fashioned coal fired brick oven, the dough is thin, crisp, and bursting with flavor. Fan favorites include our traditional Margherita Pizza, Quattro Formaggi, Pizza Pomodori, and White Clam Pizza

We can accommodate parties of all sizes or we can bring the party to you with our experienced catering staff. We do recommend that parties larger than six people call in advance to make reservations.

Catered Parties

We have catered for numerous film productions including sets for television shows such as Law & Order, MTV, Saturday Night Live, and many more. Our chefs prepare every meal from scratch and small parties as well as large receptions can be accommodated with very little advance notice.
We can also host your parties in our conveniently located restaurants that offer an intimate, family-oriented atmosphere and unparalleled service. If you have any parties or upcoming events, please give us a call or submit a form and let us help make your experience a great one!

Times Square Location history:

Situated in the heart of Times Square, Don Giovanni proudly opened its doors to serve Midtown Manhattan in 1993, converting what used to be the site of The Improv into a lively and dynamic restaurant. The world famous comedy club hosted the likes of Richard Pryor, Woody Allen, John Belushi, Larry David, Andy Kaufman, George Carlin, Jackie Mason, Robin Williams, and countless other stars from 1963 to 1993. In homage to the building’s iconic history, the famous Brick Wall still stands today to be marveled and enjoyed by our patrons.

We are just steps away from the Theater District, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and Madison Square Garden. In an area filled with bright lights, famed attractions, live bands, and Broadway shows, Don Giovanni’s is the perfect place to come sit and enjoy a delicious Italian meal after a fun-filled day of exploring all that the neighborhood has to offer.

Recognized worldwide, we have hosted marriage proposals, wedding parties, family reunions, modeling shows, karaoke nights, and TV productions. Our family-oriented nature, charming personality, and affordability have attracted an extremely loyal following of celebrities, tourists, families, businesses, and Italian food aficionados.

We have also been honored to support NYC during some of its most challenging times. Following 9/11 Don Giovanni’s proudly catered the performers of The Concert for New York City at Madison Square Garden, organized by Paul McCartney and including The Who, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Jay-Z, and Adam Sandler among others, helping to raise over $30 million for the Robin Hood Relief Fund. We also lent a hand to the Harlem Fire House in support of the FDNY. During the COVID-19 crisis, Don Giovanni’s worked with staff from the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center to safely maintain and expand our delivery service, providing hot meals to families in over 60 blocks of the city.

Chelsea Location history:

We are proud to say that our Chelsea location is the Original Don Giovanni Ristorante and has brought families together for almost a quarter of a century. We have adoringly watched our neighborhood develop around us; from a barren area to the now thriving art district.

Our neighborhood is important to us, and we have taken care of our residents for years. Our proudest moment here at Don Giovanni was our involvement in assisting those affected by the tragedy of September 11th. During this time we kept our restaurant open for everyone in need of food and water. Post-9/11, Don Giovanni donated meals for all of the brave paramedics, doctors, and members of the FDNY and NYPD. We were honored to have been able to lend our support and services during this time. Following 9/11, members of the Don Giovanni family received an award on behalf of Governor Pataki thanking us for our contributions and support. We also took care of our family during the 2004 New York City Blackout. While other businesses were forced to close due to lack of electricity, Don Giovanni stayed open because of our coal oven. Our traditional and old fashioned ways definitely have its perks!

Don Giovanni is set in the heart of the Art District, just steps away from Chelsea Piers, The Highline, and more. Supremely close to all the hottest clubs and lounges, art galleries, music and film studios, a visit to New York City is not complete without a meal at Don Giovanni's.
